Decoding the Textile Factory: The Inside Story of How Fabric Is Made

Many seemingly ordinary fabrics used for workwear, business shirts, and medical bedding actually go through a complete transformation—from blended fibers all the way to finished fabric. Our factory specializes in polyester-cotton yarn and polyester-cotton greige fabric. With scientifically designed polyester and cotton blending ratios, our products combine abrasion resistance, wash durability, breathability, cleanliness, and hygiene, making them widely used in workwear, shirts, medical bedding, and more. Today, we take you inside the full textile process to see how a bundle of fibers is precisely processed into qualified fabric.

The birth of fabric begins with raw material pre-treatment. The incoming polyester-cotton blended fibers are loose and disordered, mixed with dust, clumps, and short fiber impurities, making them unsuitable for direct spinning. In the workshop, opening and cleaning machines are used to loosen fiber bundles and remove impurities. Then, carding machines carefully comb the fibers, aligning and straightening them while removing inferior short fibers. Eventually, the fibers are formed into uniform, clean, and fluffy slivers. This foundational step directly determines the smoothness and strength of the final yarn.

These slivers then go through drawing processes, where multiple strands are combined and stretched to ensure even blending of polyester and cotton fibers. Through roving and spinning machines, the slivers are gradually stretched and precisely twisted into fine, compact, and uniform polyester-cotton yarn. According to the requirements of different end uses—such as durability for workwear, smoothness for shirts, and hygiene for medical bedding—the factory precisely controls yarn twist and thickness. Finally, winding machines remove yarn defects and package the yarn into neat cones, completing the transformation from fiber to yarn.

The neatly finished polyester-cotton yarn is then fed into weaving machines to begin the fabric formation stage. Through the interlacing of warp and weft yarns at high speed, complete polyester-cotton greige fabric is produced. Operators continuously monitor the machines, promptly fixing yarn breaks and removing fly waste to prevent defects, ensuring tight structure and smooth fabric surfaces. This guarantees high standards required for workwear durability, shirt drape, and medical bedding cleanliness.

The newly woven greige fabric is still rough and requires finishing. Through singeing, surface fuzz is removed to achieve a smooth and clean finish. High-temperature setting stabilizes dimensions, preventing shrinkage and deformation even after repeated washing. Meanwhile, dust removal and cleaning processes ensure hygiene standards, especially for medical-grade applications. Finally, strict quality inspection is carried out before the fabric can be approved as finished product.

From disordered fibers to uniform slivers, from fine yarns to smooth greige fabric, each step is interconnected and progressively refined. Our factory strictly adheres to production and safety standards, carefully crafting every cone of yarn and every roll of fabric. With stable and high-quality polyester-cotton materials, we provide reliable textile solutions for workwear, business shirts, and medical bedding applications.
